Volodymyr Zelensky met in Kiev with former US special representative for Ukraine General Keith Kellogg, who arrived in the country to participate in an International Veterans Forum.
Kellogg had earlier inspected the destruction in the port of Odessa after the latest Russian attacks.
„Anti-ballistic defense is a top priority for us. I informed General Kellogg about our joint work with European partners on building our own anti-missile system, but to survive this winter, the supply of Patriot missiles is indispensable“, Zelensky stressed on his official profile on the social network X, quoted by UNN agency (unn.ua).
The Ukrainian leader was categorical that Kiev is not just waiting for free aid, but is fully prepared to directly purchase the necessary quantities of interceptor missiles of the PAC-2 and PAC-3 modifications. According to data from the Ministry of Defense in Kiev, in order to ensure the peace of its major cities during the winter months, Ukraine needs at least 300 additional missiles for American air defense systems.
