Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga welcomed the leaders of six European countries and other high-ranking representatives who arrived in the Ukrainian capital on the eve of Ukraine's Independence Day at the Kiev railway station, BTA reports.

Sibiga announced the visits on the social network “Ex“, specifying that the leaders of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Norway arrived in Kiev this morning.

“On the eve of Independence Day, we feel that we are not alone. Our allies are with us“, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister wrote. According to him, the guests will hold bilateral and multilateral talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky, and important decisions and significant statements are expected to be made.

„Our task is to prove Putin wrong“

Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal also confirmed his visit to Kiev. He noted the symbolism of the anniversary, recalling that 35 years ago, Estonia and Ukraine restored their independence.

„Putin hopes that time is on his side. Our task is to prove him wrong. Ukraine must have everything it needs to defend itself and determine its own future,“ Michal said.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb also arrived in Kiev with his wife Suzanne Ines-Stub. He will participate in the meeting of the “Coalition of the Willing“, the NB8-Ukraine summit and the official celebrations on the occasion of Independence Day.

The Finnish delegation also includes the Chief of Defence, Janne Jaakola, and representatives of the business community.

Support for Ukraine before winter

Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kullbergs will also participate in the events in Kiev. He stressed his country's commitment to helping Ukraine prepare for the upcoming winter.

It was also announced earlier that Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda would arrive in the Ukrainian capital.

The presence of the leaders of six European countries in Kiev on the eve of Independence Day has both political and symbolic significance. The visits come as European countries continue to discuss military, economic and political support for Ukraine and future steps to ensure its security.
