Seventeen people were injured when a Bulgarian cruise ship crashed into a concrete wall at a lock on the Danube River in the northern Austrian town of Asch an der Donau. This happened last night, the local police reported, the Austrian APA agency reported.
11 of the victims were taken to hospital.
Around 160 passengers were on board the ship traveling from Bavaria in Germany to the Austrian city of Linz, a police spokesman in the nearby town of Efferding said.
The ship was able to continue its journey after the incident, the spokesman said.
In the APA information, the name of the cruise ship with which the accident took place is not disclosed.
