US President Joe Biden is slightly increasing his lead over Donald Trump ahead of November's presidential election, as the Republican candidate prepares to begin the first of four upcoming criminal trials.
This is according to the data of a new study by Reuters/Ipsos. The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted among 833 adult citizens at the beginning of April.
About 41% of registered voters in the poll said they would vote for Biden if the election were held today. 37 percent of those asked are ready to vote for Donald Trump. The remaining 22 percent of respondents have not yet chosen a candidate, are inclined to vote for a third candidate, or will not vote at all.
The November elections are expected to be highly contested. This is the first rematch of the US presidential elections in nearly 70 years.
Trump is scheduled to appear in a Manhattan courtroom on April 15 for the start of the first of four pending criminal trials. Biden, on the other hand, has been criticized for his support for Israel in the war with Hamas.
