Kosovo's membership in the Euro-Atlantic institutions will be a triumph of democracy throughout Europe, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said today during a meeting with the Chairman of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and Foreign Minister of Malta Ian Borg, KosovaPress reported, quoted by BTA.
„President Osmani stressed that Kosovo's membership in the Euro-Atlantic institutions will be a triumph for democracy and human rights not only in Kosovo, but also in the whole of Europe”, the presidency wrote in a press release.
Osmani and Borg discussed the cooperation of Kosovo institutions with the OSCE, including the organization's support in the past. Borg presented his program as chairman in the upcoming period.
The two also discussed bilateral relations between Kosovo and Malta, with Osmani stressing that Kosovo has made the most progress in the region in terms of strengthening the rule of law and democracy.
Borg also met today with Kosovo Foreign Minister Donika Garvala.
„The Republic of Kosovo is an example in the region of democracy, rule of law, respect for the rights of minority communities and a factor of stability. Therefore, Kosovo's membership in the OSCE will further strengthen the role of the OSCE in the Western Balkans, Garvala said.
Yesterday Borg met in Belgrade with the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament Ana Brnabic and the Minister of Defense Milos Vucevic.
