Russia yesterday destroyed the largest thermal power plant in the region of Kyiv - Tripoli TPP. According to Ukrainian media, the attack was carried out with a new rocket – X-69.

Debris found in the Kiev region show that Russia used this new cruise missile, writes “Ukrainska Pravda”. Defense Express reports that it is a subsonic cruise missile that can be launched by the Su-34 and Su-35.

The Russians are believed to have modified the precision air-to-surface missile; X-59, the range of which is up to 290 kilometers. According to some analysts, X-69 is even more dangerous than "Dagger".

Russia is purposefully attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The Tripoli TPP is located nearly 45 kilometers from the capital Kyiv. After the decommissioning of the Chernobyl NPP, it was the Tripol TPP that became the largest energy production enterprise in the region.

Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko has urgently requested additional arms supplies from Ukraine's allies to fend off intensifying Russian attacks against the country, DPA reported. “This is a war of resources, that is why we need the support of our partners,“, said Klitschko. He added that Ukraine urgently needs air defense systems. President Volodymyr Zelensky constantly makes such a request.
