The Israeli army also confirmed that the country was attacked with drones that would take several hours to reach Israeli territory.
Warnings of a possible Iranian attack have increased in recent days after Tehran repeatedly threatened to retaliate against an alleged Israeli attack on an Iranian diplomatic compound in Syria that killed two brigadier generals.
Sky News reports that, in addition to drones, Iran has also fired missiles into Israeli territory. Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced that it had also fired rockets because of “numerous crimes of the evil Zionist regime, including the attack on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus”.
