The German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that at his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, he intends to discuss the achievement of a just peace in Ukraine, reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.
"My meeting with President Xi will also discuss how we can contribute more to a just peace in Ukraine," Scholz wrote in "X", adding that there were "intense talks between the two governments since my last visit to China".
Scholz met with Xi at the end of his three-day visit to China, Chinese state media reported. The German chancellor visited Beijing at a time when Xi, who has not explicitly condemned the Russian-led war against Ukraine, is subject to Western criticism for his demonstrated closeness to Moscow and Russian President Vladimir Putin, notes AFP.
