Kovachevski: SDSM is a state-building party that traces its roots to the socialist Gotse Delchev - 1

In front of the EU Delegation building in Skopje SDSM held a rally, which was attended by the chairman of the Party of European Socialists (PES), Stefan Löven, reported BTA.

Under heavy rain, hundreds of supporters of the ruling party in North Macedonia closed the street in front of the building on the penultimate day of the presidential election campaign and the fifth day of the campaign for the parliamentary elections in the country.

„The SDSM is a state-building party that has its roots in the socialist Gotse Delchev and its leaders such as Lazar Kolishevski, Petar Goshev, Branko Tsrvenkovski, Radmila Shekerinska, Zoran Zaev, Vlado Buckovski... What they all have in common is that nothing cannot stop them in their intentions for a better Macedonia, at least one rainy day in Skopje. Because they are not made from the fake chocolates of Nikola Gruevski and Hristiyan Mickoski, nor from the fake styrofoam and baroque of VMRO-DPMNE”, SDSM chairman Dimitar Kovachevski pointed out at the rally.

In his words, the SDSM will not give up the European future of North Macedonia, which means a better life, European standards and European values, after the SDSM government has overcome the pandemic, the energy crisis, inflation and at no time have surrendered.

Kovachevski reminded again that he was not created by the political system, but became prime minister after years of experience in the private sector, and if SDSM remains in power, citizens will receive shares in state-owned energy companies. He also said that the production of energy from renewable sources will increase by 100 percent, there will be no import of electricity and that he will work for a clean environment.

As part of the mistakes made, Kovachevski reported the personnel policy of his government, but also political mistakes, “above all in the cooperation of the SDSM with some coalition partners”.

„I am aware that some of them crossed the red line and turned ethnic issues into business. Yes, some of the Albanian and Macedonian parties have turned ethnic issues into profession, business and personal careers, which should change immediately after May 8” (when the second round of the presidential elections will be held in North Macedonia together with the parliamentary elections), he pointed out.

„These elections will determine the future of North Macedonia in terms of social rights and integration in the European Union. To achieve the best results, citizens must live in a society that protects them, where democracy is respected. About us – the social democrats, the defense of democracy is fundamental,” said Stefan Löven, according to whom Dimitar Kovachevski, Stevo Pendarovski and SDSM are the only leaders who have a clear plan on how to "bring" North Macedonia in Europe.

At the rally, the leaders of SDSM lists from the six constituencies into which the country was divided during the elections were presented, and musicians from Galichnik, where Stevo Pendarovski is from, led him to the rostrum.

„VMRO-DPMNE was and remains a breeding ground for profiteers from the transition, who today support the verification of the assets of politicians only in the last five years, because they believe that people do not remember how during the transition some of them increased their assets disproportionately and became millionaires. Their candidate for president never once appeared alone in front of the citizens to explain his views, because the chairman of the party spoke instead of her at the rallies,” pointed out the president of North Macedonia and candidate for a second term, supported by the SDSM, Stevo Pendarovski.

He added that the president of the country cannot be a person who does not differentiate between the commander-in-chief of the armed forces and the chief of the General Staff, referring to Gordana Siljanovska's promise during her campaign opening rally that she would point to commander-in-chief of the most experienced and most authoritative representative of the armed forces of North Macedonia.

„The candidate who until a few days ago had not announced his election program, who did not want to participate in debates with all seven presidential candidates, because he made a selection based on personal criteria which of us is worthy of debating with her... The same person who said a few days ago that according to the European negotiation framework history is not a condition for our entry into the EU, and the party that proposes her for the highest state function, did not say a word about her position, despite the fact that three for years organized protests and political and parliamentary blockades of our integration into the EU, persistently repeating the deception that we will not become a member of the EU until we accept the Bulgarian version of history. To make the paradox even greater, senior representatives of this party believed their own propaganda, and two years after adopting the negotiating framework, they still do not know what is written in it... In front of foreign diplomats, they express readiness to accept changes to the constitution, and in front of their voters they repeat that this will not happen under Bulgarian dictation”, Pendarovski stated at the rally.

In the last days of the pre-election campaign for the presidential elections in North Macedonia, practically all the parties that nominated candidates for president are planning rallies. In the evening hours today in the central square in Skopje, the European Front, led by DSI, will hold a rally, and MRT TV recalled its invitation to a debate with all presidential candidates this evening as well, waiting for which of the seven candidates will appear in the studio.
