In the next package of military US aid Ukraine may receive ATACMS tactical missiles. This was stated by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Intelligence, Mark Warner, in an interview with CBS-News.
"I hope that as soon as this (the approved aid bill for Ukraine) gets to the President (Joe Biden) by Tuesday or Wednesday (April 23-24), the ATACMS long-range missiles will be delivered," he said, as has emphasized that these missiles are a directly prescribed solution in the bill.
According to the senator, if all goes well with the passage of the bill in the Senate, the delivery of the weapons itself could begin by the end of next week. Warner added that the Pentagon must have already prepared ATACMS missiles for transfer to Ukraine.
On Saturday (April 20), the US House of Representatives, with broad bipartisan support, passed a legislative package worth $95 billion in foreign aid, $61 billion of which is for Ukraine. The Senate will begin considering the House-passed bill on Tuesday, after which it must be signed by US President Joe Biden.
