Estonia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on a call, the Russian chargé d'affaires to express his protest about interference in the jeep's orientation in Estonian airspace, reported Reuters. The agency referred to a statement from today by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna on the social platform "X", writes BTA.
According to the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russia's charge d'affaires in Estonia is Lennar Salimulin.
"Today we summoned the Russian chargé d'affaires in connection with jeep interference, which is a violation of the rules of the International Telecommunication Union and caused serious damage to Estonian air traffic,'' Tsakhkna wrote.
Last month, Estonia accused Russia of violating international aviation rules by interfering with GPS signals, after detected disturbances in GPS orientation led to changes in air traffic control from the airport in the Estonian city of Tartu, according to Reuters.
The agency recalls that last year Russia and Estonia expelled the other country's ambassadors in the context of sharply deteriorating bilateral relations after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
