Russian leader Vladimir Putin lives in an "information aquarium" and has no intention of stopping. Ukraine is fighting for itself and for Europe, and that is why it needs international support. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday during a joint press conference after negotiations with the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metzola.
We must protect Ukraine. This is our future and independence. Putin will not stop. He is in this information aquarium, in this world built by his intelligence services, he lives in it.
Zelensky complained that sometimes some representatives of different countries confirm that the sanctions are not so strong: "They find formats how to get out of them. They even go to Putin's inauguration," Interfax-Ukraine quoted him as saying.
Ukraine's president says Kiev continues to need timely defense support to help thwart Russia's offensive plan this year.
Zelensky mentioned the first global summit on a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, planned for mid-June in Switzerland, calling on the countries to clearly express their position on this issue.
As previously reported, Zelensky and Metzola's press conference was interrupted after air raid sirens sounded over Kiev.
