The United States will announce a new $400 million military aid package for Ukraine in Friday, according to two U.S. officials and a memo to Congress seen by Politico.
The package, which will involve transfers of weapons already in the US stockpile, includes new Patriot missiles, Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, Bradley fighting vehicles, MRAPs, Javelin anti-tank systems and other munitions.
Earlier on Thursday, Sweden's government announced that it had instructed the country's armed forces to transfer 28 million euros to support Ukraine's defense capabilities.
Last week, the Italian government approved the composition of a new military aid package for Ukraine. Military assistance from Rome will include another battery of SAMP/T medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems capable of shooting down ballistic and supersonic cruise missiles.
