Washington and Berlin to Kiev: Arms shipments instantly stop if you attack Russia

US and Germany have threatened Ukraine with the termination of the supply of missiles if its military uses them to strike targets on the territory of the Russian Federation, reports the military analyst of the German newspaper BILD, Julian Röpke.

The West's insistence that the weapons provided to Ukraine by NATO countries not be used on or over Russian territory is a huge disadvantage for the country's Armed Forces (AFF) - especially in the battle for Kharkiv.

"Simply put: while Russia fires almost 5,000 artillery shells at Kharkiv every day, Ukraine has no right to fire a single Western shell in response,”, the editors explain.

The situation is similar with airstrikes. In theory, most Russian air bases in use should be within range of the weapons Kiev has received from Western countries. But none of these weapons can be used to destroy Russian aircraft that are not in the air.

Ukraine also cannot use Western air defense systems against Russian planes, and its military must wait until the bombers launch cruise missiles and are over Ukrainian territory to strike them, the paper noted.

"The Ukrainian army has at least once used the Patriot system from Germany to take independent action. Reaction: angry appeals from Berlin and Washington and a threat to cut off supplies of anti-aircraft missiles if such an incident happens again, BILD claims.

However, there is finally progress on lifting the Western blockade - the leaders of several countries have announced that their weapons can now be used against Russian targets. However, many of the guns used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces fire American shells, and the United States, along with Germany, opposes such use, the publication emphasizes.
