Nearly 200 Georgian NGOs have announced that they refuse to comply with the law on “foreign influence”, which was adopted yesterday by the parliament at the initiative of the ruling party, despite mass protests in the country, reported France Presse, quoted by BTA.
„The Russian law will not work in our country and will remain a blank piece of paper that no one will follow”, the non-governmental organizations said in a joint statement.
The Georgian opposition fears that this law will be used to suppress any opposition to the regime, as was the case with a similar Russian law, notes AFP.
