Joe Biden: This proposal should not be missed! - 1

US President Joe Biden said that Israel is proposing a new plan for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, world agencies reported , quoted by BTA.

He added that this opportunity for an agreement on Gaza should not be missed.

Biden said Israel's offer included the withdrawal of all Israeli military personnel from the enclave for six weeks, a full ceasefire and the release of all hostages.

Biden called on "Hamas" to accept this agreement.

Biden added that the radical Palestinian movement is no longer capable of carrying out another large-scale attack on Israel, and called on the Israelis and the Palestinian movement to reach an agreement to release the remaining hostages in exchange for an extension of the ceasefire.

"This is really a decisive moment,", Biden said, speaking of the three-stage deal that Israeli officials have offered to "Hamas". "Israel made its offer. "Hamas" says he wants a ceasefire. This deal is an opportunity to prove if they really mean it,'' Biden said.

Israel started its war in Gaza after the attack of "Hamas" on October 7, in which militants invaded southern Israel, killing about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and abducting about 250 people. Israel says about 100 hostages are still being held in Gaza, along with the bodies of about 30 others.

Biden said the first phase of the proposed deal would last six weeks and would include a "complete and comprehensive ceasefire", the withdrawal of Israeli forces from all Gaza settlements and the release of a number of hostages, including women, elderly people and injured, in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.

The American hostages who will be released at this point, as well as the bodies of killed hostages, will be returned to their families. Humanitarian aid will increase sharply in the first phase, with 600 trucks allowed into Gaza each day.

The second phase will involve the release of all remaining hostages alive, including male soldiers, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

"And while "Hamas" fulfills its commitments, the temporary ceasefire will become, according to the wording in the Israeli ceasefire proposal, a "permanent cessation of hostilities"," Biden said.

The third stage calls for the start of a large-scale reconstruction of Gaza, which will take decades.
