Half of the German population fears a possible terrorist attack at Euro 2024, which the country hosts, points to a new sociological survey cited by DPA and BTA.
According to the survey published today, conducted by “Yugav” (“YouGov”) in collaboration with "Science Institute" (“Sinus Institute”), 12% of those asked were very disturbed and 35% were somewhat disturbed. On the other hand, 24% were not very worried, 12% were not worried at all, and 16% of respondents either had no opinion or did not answer the question.
The survey also showed that almost half of those asked (46%) claimed to be indifferent to the upcoming championship. In addition, 11% of respondents were against the championship, and 32% were looking forward to it.
2,065 people participated in the online poll, which was conducted between April 18 and 25.
The European Football Championship will start on June 14 with a match between the hosts Germany against Scotland in Munich, and the final will be on July 14 in Berlin.
