Four American professors from a small university in Iowa were wounded in knife attack in a public park. The incident took place in the northeastern Chinese province of Jilin, Reuters reported.
The group was visiting a temple in Beishan Park when they were attacked by a man with a knife. The injured have been hospitalized,
Motives for the attack are unclear.

There are currently fewer than 900 American exchange students in China. By comparison, there are over 290,000 Chinese students in the US.
