Russia claims to have neutralized a large number of Ukrainian drones, 87 in total, aimed mainly at the southern Rostov region, TASS reported and France Press, highlighting the ongoing tension in the region, reports BTA.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a total of 87 drones were intercepted in various Russian territories, marking a significant defensive maneuver.

Four fifths of the unmanned aerial vehicles - a total of 70 units - were destroyed over the Rostov region. The remaining drones were dispersed and shot down over Kursk, Voronezh, Belgorod, Volgograd regions and even the disputed Crimean peninsula, now annexed by Russia.

There are no reports of casualties following this large-scale interception.

Several towns in Rostov Oblast experienced power outages, and a minor incident was reported at an oil base in Voronezh Oblast, where debris from a drone slightly damaged a tank.
