The Turkish army killed 17 fighters of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) during operations in northern Iraq and Syria. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic announced this on X (formerly Twitter).
„Eight terrorists were killed in Northern Iraq in the region of Hakurk, nine militants were eliminated in Syria in the areas of the operation “Euphrates Shield”. and the “Fountain of Peace”, the announcement said.
Turkish authorities call the PKK the main threat to national security. The Army of the Republic periodically conducts operations against Kurdish fighters in northern Iraq and maintains a large group of troops in the region.
