Lebanese group "Hezbollah" announced that it had shelled northern Israel in response to the death of one of its fighters in a targeted Israeli strike in southern Lebanon a day after its leader delivered a defiant speech to Israel and Cyprus, AFP reported, quoted by BTA.

For the first time, he also threatened Cyprus, saying he "has information" that the EU country closest to the Middle East coast will open "airports and bases" for Israel if the Jewish state is attacked.
In a press release today, the pro-Iranian group announced that it had fired "dozens of Katyusha rockets" by military position in northern Israel. She added that the strike was "revenge for the killing carried out by the enemy in the village of Deir Kifa.
According to "Hezbollah" one of its fighters died in the village.
