< p>Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel is waging a "war for its existence" and needs American weapons, turning directly to the White House after saying that Washington is blocking the supply of weapons, reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.
"I am ready to suffer personal attacks on the condition that Israel receives from the US the weapons it needs in the war for its existence," Netanyahu said.
Israel is waging war against "Hamas" in Gaza since the Palestinian Islamist movement carried out an unprecedented attack on Israeli territory on October 7 last year.
On Tuesday, Netanyahu angered his main ally Washington, accusing the US of "withholding weapons and ammunition for Israel".
American representatives said they did not know what the Israeli prime minister was talking about.
"These comments are deeply disappointing and certainly troubling to us given the significant support we have provided and will continue to provide," White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said today.
