French President Emmanuel Macron said on the Génération Do It Yourself (GDIY) podcast that will continue the dialogue with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, noting that he does not rule out a possible conversation with him on one or another topic.
„I believe in the power of dialogue and I would continue the dialogue with Vladimir Putin... In the last few months there has not been one, but I do not rule it out on one or another topic, including on the issue of nuclear power plants or on something else, but, frankly, I believe it is always important to continue the dialogue,”, Macron said.
At the same time, the French leader, speaking about the nuclear power plant, did not explain what he meant.
In an interview with France 2 in March, Macron rejected the suggestion that Putin had cooled relations between them, recalling that at the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine he had several phone conversations with the Russian president.
Putin had previously said that Russia was ready to continue interacting with France and had a good working relationship with Macron, but he had ended it.
