Ukraine receives another Patriot air defense system from Germany. This is the third such that Kiev receives from Germany. This was stated by the German ambassador in Kyiv, quoted by Reuters.
Moscow renewed its airstrikes against Ukraine's power grid in the spring, causing massive blackouts. President Volodymyr Zelensky said that his country needs at least seven additional "Patriot" systems to defend itself.
Martin Yeager wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter) that the "Patriot" will help improve the protection of Ukraine's civilians and infrastructure. According to him, the Ukrainian crew has successfully completed appropriate training in Germany.
Kiev is hoping for progress on air defense supplies at the NATO summit in Washington next week.
