Russian ballistic missiles "Iskander" destroyed two launchers for surface-to-air missile systems; "The Patriot" in the Odesa region of Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday, as quoted by "Reuters".
The attack took place in the Yuzhny port area, the ministry said in a statement on the Telegram messaging app, adding that a radar station was also destroyed.
It is unclear when the attack on the Patriot launchers took place. A video posted on Telegram by the ministry shows explosions in broad daylight on uninhabited land near the coastline, following the approach of hard-to-identify objects.
No comment from Ukraine.
Earlier on Sunday, Ukraine's air force said Russia had attacked Ukraine with two Iskander ballistic missiles, but gave no further details.
Ukraine's Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk earlier said that the Russian military hit mock-ups of Ukrainian air defense systems with "Iskander" missiles.
Oleschuk posted on the Air Force Telegram channel clips from pro-war Russian Telegram channels claiming that the Russian military destroyed a radar station and a Patriot air defense system.
"Of course, both we and the enemy have losses of equipment and people. But neither side is talking about it publicly. It's clear why! - writes Oleschuk.
