US President Joe Biden wrote today in letter to congressional Democrats that he is "firmly determined" to remain in the presidential race to defeat the Republican candidate Donald Trump, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
"I want you to know that despite all the speculation in the media and elsewhere, I am determined to stay in this race, see it through and defeat Donald Trump,'' Biden wrote to congressmen after they returned to Washington from its parliamentary vacation for the national holiday July 4.
The US president called for "an end" of intra-party infighting caused by doubts among Democrats whether Biden should remain in the presidential race.
He emphasized that the party has "a single task" and that she is Donald Trump to be defeated in the November election.
"We have 42 days until the Democratic Convention and 119 days until the presidential election (. . .) It's time to show unity, unite the party and defeat Donald Trump,'' Biden wrote.
He expressed confidence that ordinary voters still support his candidacy.
"I absolutely do not intend to go,", Biden told MSNBC.
