The United States announced plans to deploy cruise missiles "Tomahawk" in Germany. The decision was announced in a joint statement by the US and German governments during the NATO summit in Washington, BTA reports.
"Episode Deployments" of long-range missiles will begin in 2026. The arsenal will include not only Tomahawk missiles, but also SM-6s and advanced hypersonic weapons, which are still under development. Hypersonic weapons are distinguished by their superior range compared to missiles currently deployed in Europe.
By deploying these high-tech capabilities, the US aims to demonstrate its commitment to the security of its European allies and the strength of the NATO alliance.
The deployment aims to significantly improve NATO's defense posture in Europe, ensuring that the alliance is better prepared to face any potential threats.
