"I shouldn't have been here, I should have been dead,", emphasized the US presidential candidate, describing the experience as "very surreal".
According to the newspaper, he was wearing a bandage over his ear, which was affected in the attack. Trump himself has said he would have been dead if he hadn't turned his head to read a chart dealing with illegal immigration.
Today, the national convention of the Republican Party began in Milwaukee, at which it is expected to be officially confirmed that Donald Trump will represent the party in the presidential elections this year, DPA reports. At the event, he will also name his vice president.
