A number of settlements on the Crimean peninsula have remained without electricity, and authorities in Russia are reporting problems at the Rostov nuclear power plant, local Telegram channels report.
Yalta, Alushta, Feodosia, Kerch, Sudak, Mirny, Novoselovskoe, Pionerskoe, Zarechnoe, Perevalnoe and part of Sevastopol remained without electricity. According to the local authorities, the reasons are related to "unscheduled work on the networks”.
The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation reports that restrictions on energy consumption have been introduced in the southern part of the country due to a "breakdown in the operation of the generating equipment of the Rostov NPP”. One of the power units was disconnected from automation due to problems with the turbogenerator. It is ensured that the radiation background is normal.
Power problems were previously reported in the Russian-controlled part of Kherson Oblast.
"As a result of an accident in the power transmission networks, a significant part of the Kherson region is without electricity and interruptions to mobile communications and the Internet may begin," explained the Moscow-appointed head of the region, Vladimir Saldo.
