The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has been unable to determine the motive of Thomas Matthew Crooks, who opened fire on former US President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania, even after interviewing more than 100 souls. It is known that the shooter did not have definite political views and was bullied at school every day, notes the Associated Press, quoted by Focus.
After the FBI opened Crooks' cellphone, examined the contents of his computer, home and car and interviewed more than 100 people, its agents remain puzzled as to why the young man opened fire at the Trump rally. The agency indicated that the authorities were able to compile only a sketchy portrait of the attacker. To his classmates, he seemed like a "smart but reserved guy who often wears headphones and prefers to sit alone at lunch looking at his phone”.
According to one of his classmates at school, Crooks was bullied on a daily basis because of his appearance. He is said to have worn strange clothing, including hunting clothes, and continued to wear a mask after the end of the coronavirus pandemic.
The shooter's political views are also unclear. He donated $15 to Democrats on the day of Biden's inauguration, even though he was registered as a Republican in Pennsylvania. The agency notes that law enforcement has yet to find any obituary, notes or social media posts that would indicate the reason Crooks shot the former US president.
