Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that Russia's responsibility for the downing of the Malaysian Airlines passenger plane over Donbas is certain, Ukrinform reported, quoted by BTA.

"It's been 10 years since Russian assassins shot down passenger plane Flight MH17 in Ukrainian skies. Then the whole world saw who came to wage war against Ukraine and that Russian evil is a threat not only to us. 298 people were killed, including 80 children. Citizens of a dozen countries from different parts of the world", Zelensky wrote in the communication application "Telegram".

He pointed out that "Russia's responsibility for this is certain. And anyone who is guilty of this and other Russian war crimes will definitely receive a well-deserved sentence.

The passenger plane "Boeing 777" of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed on July 17, 2014, over the temporarily occupied part of the Donetsk region. There were 283 passengers and 15 crew members on board and all died.

The international team investigating the incident concluded that the plane was shot down by a Buk anti-aircraft missile system belonging to the 53rd Air Defense Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, based in Kursk, Ukrinform writes.

The position of Russia in the case of the crash of the "Boeing 777" in 2014, it remains unchanged, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by TASS.

"Our position is well known - no arguments of the Russian side were taken into account, we did not participate in the investigation," Peskov told journalists in Moscow. "Therefore, our attitude towards these conclusions is well known", the Kremlin spokesman also said.
