Two days earlier, an Iskander-M 23 attack resulted in the deaths of approximately 50 Western foreign mercenaries in the same area.

Also this month, a double strike was carried out to destroy key railway infrastructure - with the Ukrainians also suffering significant losses. In addition, "Iskander-M" destroyed two batteries of the deficient Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex near the village of Yuzhnoe in Odesa region. Finally, earlier this month, the systems were used in a successful strike on Myrhorod Air Base, destroying several more of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' few remaining Su-27 fighters and causing serious damage to Ukraine's combat aviation capabilities.

The missiles of the complex can perform extensive maneuvers during the entire flight. This makes them extremely difficult to detect or track. From the new year, the "Iskander-M" systems hitting increasingly high-value targets, and in March they were successfully used in air defense operations against Ukraine's Patriot systems along with other surface-to-air missiles, serving to increase the effectiveness and significantly increase the vulnerability of these close clusters of Ukrainian forces, the publication notes.
