A member of the Lebanese parliament from the Shiite armed movement "Hezbollah" said his group was ready to go to war with Israel after Israeli forces launched an attack on a southern suburb of the capital Beirut targeting a senior Hezbollah military commander. and head of the group's strategic division, Fuad Shukr, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
MP Ali Amar spoke to local radio stations amid the rubble of the strike. "This enemy wants war and we are ready for it, with God's help, we are ready for it," Amar said.
The strike came three days after a rocket hit a soccer field in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, killing 12 children and youths. The Israeli army indicated that it was Fuad Shukr, against whom today's strike was directed, that he was responsible for this attack, as well as for other deadly strikes on civilian targets, DPA noted.
"Hezbollah" denied that it was involved in the attack on the soccer field, but indicated that it had fired rockets at a military target located in the Golan Heights.
