The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrsky, said that he had worked for three days on the Eastern Front, in the brigades that hold the defense in the Kharkov and Torets directions. According to him, fighting of varying intensity continues on all directions of the Russian offensive. "The enemy continues to concentrate its efforts in the Pokrov direction, throwing its experienced assault units into battle, trying to break through our defense in the direction of Zhelany, Novogrodovka, Pokrovsk. Fierce fighting continues in the Kupyansk direction in the area of Peschany, Stelmakhivka and Makeevka, but we are holding our positions," Sirsky quoted Ukrainskaya Pravda as saying.
According to him, the situation in the Seversk direction is difficult, the Russians are also storming the positions of the defense forces in the area of the settlement of New York, Yuzhenoe and Zhelezny. In the Kharkov direction, heavy fighting is taking place in the area of Glubokoe and Volchansk, but the Russians are not succeeding and are suffering significant losses, Sirsky said.
"During active combat operations, the tactical positions of the troops can change several times during the day. At the moment, there are no significant changes. Counter-sabotage operations are being carried out by the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Military Law Enforcement Service. "Their units are currently detecting and neutralizing enemy sabotage groups in settlements in the Toretsk direction," said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
