DPRK leader Kim Jong-un thanks Russian President Vladimir Putin, who expressed condolences over with the serious damage caused by the floods in some areas of North Korea and stated that it is ready to provide assistance to overcome the consequences of the disaster.

"Kim Jong-un, on behalf of the government of the DPRK, the DPRK, the Korean people and on his own behalf, expressed his sincere gratitude to President Vladimir Putin and the Russian government," the Korean Central News Agency (KCTA) said in a statement ).

The North Korean leader also noted that it was "at the most difficult moment that I completely felt a special feeling for a true friend".

He stated that at this stage, urgent measures have been taken to alleviate the effects of the floods, and the restoration will be carried out in accordance with the prepared plan.

"If urgent help is needed during the further recovery, it will be requested from the most sincere friends - Moscow,", Kim Jong-un summed up.
