The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a warning to Turkish citizens who are in Lebanon to leave the country due to danger to their security, BTA reported.
A message published on the ministry's website stated that there is a security risk in Lebanon due to heightened tensions in the region. The situation poses a risk to the lives and security of Turkish citizens, especially those located in the provinces of Nabatia, South Lebanon, Bekaa and Baalbek-Hermel.
"We strongly advise our citizens who are in Lebanon to leave the country immediately. And those who intend to visit Lebanon are strongly advised to refrain from travel unless there is an urgent need to do so," the statement said.
Current information on the situation in Lebanon is provided on the website of the Turkish Embassy in Beirut. For now, commercial flights between Istanbul and Beirut continue to operate, adds the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
