Russia will be powerless against US hypersonic missiles in Germany, which are plans to be deployed in the country. This was stated by the Ukrainian military-political analyst Oleksandr Kovalenko to NEXTA.
For the first time since the Cold War, the US wants to deploy weapons in Germany that can reach targets in Russia. This is to happen from 2026 onwards. Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned the US that if Washington deploys long-range missiles in Germany after 2026, Moscow will also deploy such missiles within range of the West.
However, Kovalenko points out that any attempts by Russia to take mirror measures will not have a significant effect. “Well, what are they (the Russians) going to do? Will they deploy “Iskander”s in the Kaliningrad region? This has already happened. Will they send "Caliber" cruise missiles to the Baltic Sea? They are already there”, pointed out Kovalenko.
Western air defense systems, such as “Patriot”, demonstrate in Ukraine high efficiency in destroying almost all Russian missiles. At the same time, Russian air defense systems have proven ineffective against Western ballistic missiles such as ATACMS.
„If Russia tries to threaten Western countries in some way, for example by demonstrative missile launch, then the guarantee that the “Patriot“ will take down almost all of them, is close to 100%. But if the West launches its missiles on the territory of the Russian Federation, the probability that they will be shot down is not so great, the expert added.
The deployment of American hypersonic missiles in Germany will strengthen the security of the region and show that the Kremlin's threats are losing their power in the face of modern technology.
