The Republican has already promised to end the war “in 24 hours” if the Americans vote him again. According to Trump, a personal meeting between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine will accelerate the peace process.
„I will contact Putin and Zelensky. I know them both very well and I will make them make a deal. That's the first thing I'm going to do," Trump said.
Kiev has already expressed its skepticism about Trump's peace plan. Ukraine does not want to agree to capitulation, which would mean giving up the territories occupied by the Russian army at the expense of “peace” with the Russian aggressor.
