The Russian The Ministry of Defense (MoD) has issued an official response rejecting the request of the wives of mobilized Russian personnel for a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov.

This is stated in an analysis by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Russian opposition media outlet SOTA published a photo it claimed was a response from the Russian Ministry of Defense to the wives rejecting their request to meet with Belousov due to strict scheduling procedures.

The Russian government has often tried to silence relatives of mobilized soldiers who have publicly called on the Russian Defense Ministry to return mobilized soldiers back to Russia.

Military bloggers affiliated with the Russian government have highlighted the Russian military's need for more officers and servicemen with specialized skills.

On August 6, a prominent Russian military blogger linked to the Kremlin claimed that Russia should open more military schools to train more officers and other personnel in certain specialties, especially artillery officers.

A Russian pro-military blogger who previously advised the Speaker of Russia's State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, claims that the Russian military often transfers soldiers with skills in short supply - such as drone, rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) and tank operators - to assault groups due to shortages per staff.

The military blogger claims that these specialty-deficit personnel often die in attacks due to a lack of proper training, and that the Russian military is unable to recruit suitable replacements to fill the former roles of these specialty personnel.

Russian sources claim that on August 6, Ukrainian forces carried out a series of cross-border raids in the Kursk region.

Russian military bloggers have largely dismissed the alleged Ukrainian raids in Kursk Oblast, and Ukrainian officials have yet to comment on the raids.
