Tim Walz has taken aim at Donald Trump from day one: He mocks American laws - 1

Democratic US vice presidential candidate Tim Walz criticized former US president Donald Trump at a rally in Philadelphia, where he campaigned for the first time with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Walz accused Trump of weakening the economy to benefit himself, saying that the former head of state "doesn't know anything about how to do his job" and that "he's too busy serving himself".

He also expressed his eagerness to challenge Trump in the November presidential election, stating: "I can't wait to beat him - that is, if he's willing to get off the couch and show up".

"He's making a mockery of our laws, sowing chaos and division, and that doesn't speak to his record as president," concluded Walz.

United States Vice President Kamala Harris announced that she has officially been nominated as the Democratic Party's presidential candidate.

"I stand before you today to proudly announce that I am now officially the Democratic Party's nominee for president of the United States," Harris said.

She made her remarks at the first joint rally with her running mate Tim Walz, emphasizing the importance of moving forward. "We have work to do, we have to get to the polls and win them," Harris added.

United States Vice President Kamala Harris introduced her running mate Tim Walz, listing all of his roles throughout his career and comparing his resume to that of Republican vice presidential nominee Senator J.D. Vance.

After noting Walz's accomplishments, specifically mentioning his time as a football coach, Harris went on to compare him to Vance, saying that "it's like a college game against a youth team.".

"Thank you for bringing back the joy," Walz said as she took the podium from Harris at their rally in Philadelphia.
