Fighter vs. ballistic missile! Ukraine takes to the air F-16 against Russian subsonic cruise missiles and drones

It is unlikely that Ukraine raised F-16 fighter jets in the sky in the course of the ballistic missile attack against Kiev from the evening of August 5, Defense Express military expert Ivan Kirichevski explained on the air of the telethon.

"As practice shows, even Patriot systems can hum loudly. Also, the North Korean ballistic missiles - the question is what sound do they make when they break up in the air. Cases of the use of these missiles are accompanied by the fact that several of them disintegrated in flight. This is how the North Korean friends of the Kremlin carelessly assemble their missiles,”, Kirichevski stressed.

At the same time, he suggested that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) could take Western fighter jets into the sky if the Russian Federation uses other types of weapons for its attacks on Kiev.

"The Russians launched the Shahed-131/136 as well as subsonic cruise missiles. No fighter jet in the world is capable of taking down ballistics, but it is perfectly capable of doing so with subsonic cruise missiles and drones. Therefore, if any strange sounds are heard, jet planes, during the downing of drones on the approaches to the capital, it is quite possible that we will also hear F-16”, Kirichevski added.
