The Chief Justice of Bangladesh Obaidul Hassan has resigned. The main reason is the wave of student protests. The leaders of the protest have given him and other judges an ultimatum demanding that he resign before 13:00 local time. Otherwise, they threatened to besiege their houses.
The chairman confirmed to reporters that he is resigning from his post, taking into account the safety of judges of the Supreme Court, the High Court and lower courts across the country in the current situation.
