Poland signed a contract with the companies "Raytian Polska" (Raytheon Polska) and "Huta Stalova Vola" (PGZ Huta Stalowa Wola) for the production of 48 BM903 launchers for the "Patriot" anti-aircraft missile complex, reports "Reuters".
The deal is worth $1.23 billion.
These launchers will be manufactured in Poland," Defense Minister Władysław Kośniak-Kamis said during a visit to Sohaczew in the central part of the country.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 has made defense a top priority for members of NATO's eastern flank, and Poland has increased spending to about 4% of its GDP that year in an effort to strengthen its armed forces.
