The Ukrainian authorities did not warn the administration of the United States of America in advance about the attack of the Ukrainian forces on the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. This was stated by Pentagon Press Secretary Patrick Ryder.
According to him, Washington is holding consultations and discussing with Kiev the operation in the Kursk region. At the same time, Ukraine's strikes on Russian territory with American weapons are in line with US policy, writes the UNIAN agency.
Similar information was shared by American diplomats. US State Department spokesman Vedant Patel told reporters that his country was in no way involved in the planning or preparation of the Ukrainian invasion of Russia, Reuters reported.
Ukraine surprised Moscow by invading the western Russian Kursk region with thousands of troops last week. According to Kiev, the armed forces of Ukraine have captured 1,000 square km of territory, which is their largest territorial gain since 2022.
