The Russian National Guard announced today that it has taken over the security of The Kursk NPP, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
Rosgvardia added that it has taken special measures and will pay special attention to Ukrainian drones in the area of the nuclear power plant.
„Special measures to counter drones are being actively adopted. "Rosgvardiya units conduct reconnaissance on the ground, monitor the movement of the enemy, identify hidden support positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces of Ukraine), adjust artillery fire, carry out remote mining of the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the Guard specified, quoted by TASS.
Meanwhile, the Russian ruble fell against the US dollar after hitting a 10-month low yesterday, but then rose slightly on the risk of escalation amid the biggest Ukrainian attack on Russian territory since the start of the war.

At 07:45 (09:45 Bulgarian time), the value of the ruble was 1.7% lower, trading at 92.10 rubles per dollar, according to London Stock Exchange data. The Russian currency has lost 8.5% of its value since the start of the Ukrainian attack on August 6.
The ruble “returned to weakness against the dollar and the euro, evidently due to escalating geopolitical tensions”, analyst Elena Kozukhova from the investment company “Veles Capital” told Reuters.
