The candidate for president of the Democratic Party of the United States, Kamala Harris and Tim Waltz, who was nominated for her vice president, will visit Pennsylvania today in connection with their election campaign, the Associated Press reported, quoted by BTA.
They will tour the state by bus and will be accompanied by their spouses – Doug Emhoff and Gwen Waltz. Harris and Walz are expected to deliver speeches in Rochester, Beaver County, where Republican front-runner Donald Trump won the 2020 election.
Southwestern Pennsylvania is an important area in a key state that has long attracted the attention of presidential candidates, and polls suggest a close race is shaping up across the state.
Today's bus tour will be Harris' eighth trip to Pennsylvania this year and second in the last month.
The Democratic National Convention, where the nominations of Harris and Walz must be confirmed, begins tomorrow in Chicago, Illinois.
