The Russian army is approaching Pokrovsk! Kiev is urgently looking for a way to evacuate 60 thousand people

The Russian army is now 11 kilometers from the outskirts of Pokrovsk, and 60 thousand residents still remain in the city. This was stated by the head of the local regional military administration (OVA) of the city of Pokrovsk Sergey Dobryak, quoted by UNIAN.

He recalled that the mandatory evacuation in the Donetsk region has been ongoing since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of the territory of Ukraine in February 2022, but the Russians are approaching the outskirts of the city, so now an intensified evacuation is taking place.

Dobryak notes that the Russians are approaching the outskirts of Pokrovsk. He believes that Pokrovsk is logistically important. "There are about 11 kilometers to the end of the city. The city is preparing, as is the rest of the Donetsk region. In the Donetsk region, we have a combat unit, a combat brigade assigned to each city. Plans have been developed for the defense of the city”, says the head of OVA.

Dobryak noted that earlier in the month 450-500 residents were evacuated from the city, and in the past week - almost 1,800. According to him, now 59,980 residents remain in Pokrovsk. He added that before the full-scale invasion, there were about 86,000 people in the settlement. The head of OVA notes that fortifications are being built in Pokrovsk. "It's an ongoing process,”, he added.

Earlier, the press of the "Chervona Kalina" brigade Lieutenant Colonel Nikolay Koval noted that the battles with the Russians continue day and night on the Pokrovskoye direction.

He emphasized that the Pokrov direction continues to remain the hottest on the front - non-stop battles continue, which are almost constantly fought in direct conflict. Shooting battles take place in forested areas and between houses in villages. According to him, the Russians are suffering heavy losses, but have accumulated a very significant number of personnel. He noted that the approach of the Russians to Pokrovsk does not mean that the city will be occupied tomorrow.
