Ukrainian forces shot down a S-300 air defense missile system in Russia's Rostov Region, the General Staff in Kyiv reported, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.

From there, they added that the consequences of the strike, which was carried out last night in the area of the residential area of Novoshakhtinsk, are still being checked.

Moscow airports are operating again in normal mode this morning after temporary restrictions were imposed on three of them due to last night's drone attacks on the Russian capital, the Russian aviation authority “Rosaviatsia” reported, as quoted by Reuters.

Ukraine launched one of its biggest drone attacks against Moscow, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced earlier. Russian air defense units shot down 11 drones flying towards the capital.

Temporary restrictions were imposed at Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports from 2:31 a.m. local time (corresponds to that in Bulgaria – ed.) until 6:30 a.m., reported “Rosaviatsia“ on his channel in the social network "Telegram". No restrictions have been imposed on the work of the large Sheremetyevo airport.

In addition, Vasily Golubev, governor of the Rostov region in southwestern Russia, said that air defense forces had destroyed a missile fired from Ukraine over the region, with no reports of casualties.

The Russian Ministry of Defense did not mention either the Tula or Rostov regions in its announcement. The data exported by the Russian side cannot yet be verified by an independent source. There is no comment from the Ukrainian side either.

In recent months, Kiev has stepped up its airstrikes against Russian territory. Ukraine has announced that the purpose of these actions is to destroy infrastructure that is key to Moscow's military effort. Kiev added that the attacks were a response to ongoing Russian strikes on Ukrainian territory.
