The war in Ukraine is at a dead end: the Pentagon has assessed what is happening on the front - 1

Ukraine and Russia do not have the military resources to launch major offensives against each other. In this regard, the war is most likely going to a dead end, Bloomberg reported, citing Pentagon intelligence.

The Ukrainian armed forces do not have enough ammunition, while the occupying army is able to fire about 10 thousand artillery shells per day. Ukrainian forces remain combat-ready, but will not be able to launch large-scale counteroffensives for at least the next six months, according to the Pentagon's assessment.

At the same time, the Russian side decided to implement a strategy of exhausting the enemy. Although the invaders could maintain a buffer zone, they did not have the strength to advance deeper, specifically towards Kharkiv. The report recalls the successes of the defense forces in the use of US ATACMS missiles. With them, the Ukrainian military hit several key Russian military installations, in particular in the occupied Crimea.

With this background, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin invited the Contact Group for Ukraine to another meeting at the US Air Force Base “Ramstein” in West Germany, DPA reported, BTA reported. The largest US air force base outside the US announced last night that the event will take place on September 6.

Within the meeting, it is planned that the ministers of defense and the military of the countries of the Contact Group will again discuss the increase of support for Ukraine. The format consists of about 50 countries, including Germany. As in previous meetings, non-NATO countries will also be invited. This will be the 24th meeting of the Contact Group to date. Most of the previous meetings were held in a video conference format. Russia has been waging a full-scale war against Ukraine since February 24, 2022.
