Mahmoud Abbas feared he would be eliminated by Mossad in Turkey - 1

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas cut short his visit to Turkey last week, rushing to leave before nightfall over fears of an assassination attempt by country of Israel, claims the famous Turkish journalist Abdulkadir Selvi, author of a column in the Turkish "Hurriet".

The columnist notes that Abbas left in a hurry, which he says was due to fears that he could be killed by Israel's Mossad intelligence service.

Selvi points out that the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmus, had organized a dinner in honor of the guest with the participation of representatives of the parliamentary parties. The dinner was canceled after Abbas refused to attend.

The Palestinian leader thanked Kurtulmus for his interest in him, but said he could not stay at the reception and had to return to Palestine before dark.

Mahmoud Abbas visited Ankara on August 15, where he announced to the Turkish parliament that he plans to go to the Gaza Strip. He spoke at an extraordinary meeting of the Mejlis, organized on the occasion of the visit.
